Want your junk drawer to look like this?
The following steps are from an article by Pamela Hammonds, Living Magazine.
- Dump the drawer.
- Make 3 piles: one to toss, one to keep, one to reassign. Unsure to keep an item or not, toss it into a basket and if no one has used it within a month, toss it.
- Assemble what stays. Arrange the items in piles of like uses. Measure your drawer to determine the size organizers you need for the items.
- Find a organizer system in which to store your items.
- Reload the drawer.
I think everybody has at least on junk drawer, that drawer that seems to catch everything, from broken parts to "What the heck did this go to?"
ReplyDeleteYou've posted some very good suggestions on how to clean up and clear out that awkward drawer full of catch alls.
Thanks! My goal this year is to simplify and de-clutter.
