I enjoyed having lunch today with my granddaughter who is in 1st grade.  Something this simple turns into a great memory for her.  Love that child!

HOW TO REDO A BATHROOM VANITY CLOSET

by
Decorate With A Little Bit

Came across this wonderful blog that has this awesome furniture-look cabinetry in their master bathroom redo.  I so want to convert my vanity closet into this work of art!  I think it would be more functional and add more architectural detail than a closet door.

RAINY DAY

We enjoyed dinner with our daughter's family tonight - yummy potato soup and salad.  Then watched the granddaughters ski and bowl on the Wii.  End of a rainy day.

PIONEER WOMAN'S CREAMY CHICKEN SPAGHETTI

Recently, my daughter made the Pioneer Woman's creamy chicken spaghetti.  It was so good!  I will have to add this to my casserole recipes.  Check out other delicious recipes on the Pioneer Woman website.

LADY AND SONS' CHEESE BISCUITS

Cheese Biscuits

Paula Deen says these are always a favorite at
The Lady and Sons Restaurant.

Ingredients

1 cup buttermilk
1/4   stick butter, melted
3/4 cup grated sharp Cheddar
1/3 cup shortening
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cup self-rising flour

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt together using a fork; cut in shortening until it resembles cornmeal. Add cheese. Stir in buttermilk all at 1 time just until blended. Do not over stir. Drop by tablespoonfuls, or use an ice cream scoop, onto a well greased baking sheet. Brush dough with melted butter. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

LIVING ROOM STORAGE IDEAS

Armoires and trunks can be used as living room furniture.  The armoire could be used for storage of entertaiment electronics and supplies.  The trunk could function as a coffee table and storage for extra pillows, throws, or out of season items.

BHG MARCH STORAGE PROJECTS: LIVING ROOM

LIVING ROOM
PERSONAL STORAGE BINSGive every family member a spot to stash personal items. Fill a bookcase with similar baskets or bins and label containers with each person's name. Establish a house rule to put away books, magazines, toys, and projects every night.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL STORAGEOverhaul your occasional tables. Replace tables and traditional ottomans with small chests and storage cubes. Add baskets to open spaces. Skirt tables and stash items underneath.
DON'T OVERDO WITH COLLECTIBLESEdit a collection to 12 or a fewer outstanding items. Display on a single shelf for maximum impact. Store other items in the collection in one location. Introduce three or four new items--and remove and store the same number--every season.
CREATE A SPACE FOR ENTERTAINMENT SUPPLIESDesignate one easily accessible drawer for entertaining supplies. Fill the drawer with coasters, napkins, and snack bowls or plates. Include a basket of favorite snacks, a roll of paper towels, and a mini trash receptacle.

IN MEMORY OF ROY BUCEK

Our Uncle Roy Bucek died this past week.  We attended his funeral on Monday in Schulenburg, Texas. He was especially proud of his A&M history as an athlete.
Playing career

Won the SWC on both the 120-High Hurdles and the 220-Low Hurdles and was an All-American in track in 1942. Was also team captain in 1942.

Played on A&M's only National Championship Team. Elected to the Aggie Hall-of-Fame in 1979.
