U. S. News evaluated almost 5,000 hospitals to rank the best in 16 adult specialties from cancer to urology. Death rates, patient safety, and reputation with more than 9,000 specialists went into the 2010-11 rankings. Shown below are 2 top-ranked Texas hospitals for cancer and heart care.

My husband and I got new cell phones Saturday evening. Naturally, it took us awhile to figure them out. Mine had to be returned to the shop today since it wasn't fully activated. Go figure! Both of us are electronically and technologically challenged - yet it was fun setting them up and getting use to the touchtone features.

|LET'S HAVE A BIRTHDAY PARTY !|
Let your child host a party for his/her stuffed-animal friends... Have him/her make up five place settings, explaining where the napkins and utensils are placed. Hand him/her ten animal crackers and ask him/her to give the same amount to each guest. Then start the celebration. This activity helps your child learn to divide things up and follow directions. I found this fun activity for kids in the October 2010 Parents magazine.

Go on a treasure hunt for items that look like a circle (the first shape most kids recognize). When you're at the grocery store, point out oranges, apples, and tortillas. At home you might spy a ball, a button, or a clock. Repeat the process another day using squares, triangles, or rectangles. This math game kid's activity was found in the October 2010 Parents magazine.

Hang Baskets Near an Entry
I found this storage tip from Better Homes and Gardens. This would be a great way to organize the family's entryway to combat clutter buildup. Install hooks and hang personalized baskets for each family member. You could place mail, sunglasses, keys, etc. to help maintain a manageable, tidy entryway. I plan to do this in my laundry room since it is the main entry for my husband and me from the garage.

Bernina 830 Sewing - Embroidery Machine
I attended a Bernina workshop at the Berry Patch in Ft. Worth yesterday. We made a decorator pillow with the 830 Sewing - Embroidery machine. It's a wonderful machine that does amazing things. It was also VERY expensive. Wish I could afford it.

Enya - Dreams (WTC Tribute) 9/11
This is a video collection of 9/11 photographs link.
THE MEMORIAL will remember and honor the nearly three thousand people who died in the horrific attacks of February 26, 1993, and September 11, 2001. The Memorial will consist of two massive pools set within the footprints of the Twin Towers with the largest manmade waterfalls in the country cascading down their sides. They will be a powerful reminder of the Twin Towers and of the unprecedented loss of life from an attack on our soil.
The names of the nearly 3,000 individuals who were killed in the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon, and the February 1993 World Trade Center bombing will be inscribed around the edges of the Memorial pools.

I found this Make Ahead Muffin Melts recipe on the Pioneer Woman's blog. If you like egg salad on an English muffin, this would be an easy breakfast to fix for your family. It consists of hard boiled eggs, shredded cheddar cheese, fried bacon, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Yum, yum!

The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City. It was a creation of the labor movement and was dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers.
On June 28, 1894, Congress passed an act making the first Monday in September of each year a legal holiday. Labor Day constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country.
In today's harsh economic times, many American workers are without jobs. Hopefully, America will soon recover from this recession and unemployed Americans will be back to work.

This week my sewing projects included this contemporary designer fabric with lots of colorful double and triple circles in reds, greens, and pinks. The first photo shows my trendy baby gift set that includes a lovey or security blanket, a burp cloth, and a wash cloth. It would be a trendy baby shower gift to put in a diaper bag.
