I can't believe it is August already, and the grandkids are going back to school later this month! We spent yesterday afternoon buying some new school clothes. One is so ready to start her new adventure at the 5th grade intermediate school, but the other two elementary gkids (1st and 3rd graders) are not ready for the summer to end! I definitely am going to cherish the last full days I will have playing with them!

TWO-YEAR BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR!
Today was my 2 year anniversary of surviving breast cancer. Needless to say, it has been an emotional day. Feelings of elation for simply being alive along with a great appreciation for the love and support by family, neighbors, and friends during my ordeal. Reading the journal I kept during that time period of diagnosis, testing, surgeries, and recoveries brought lots of tears. I thank God everyday for life and the blessings he has bestowed upon me. I am one of the lucky ones. Ladies, be sure you schedule your yearly mammogram!
My husband, Pat, and my daughter, Cathy, were at every appointment and by my side every day during my breast cancer journey. I could not have gone through this ordeal without their love and support. Love you both!

CHRISTMAS IS DOWN FOR THE YEAR
Well, it is official. I have all the Christmas decorations properly stored away for the year! I only put 2 items in the Good Will bin. Guess I did a good job last year of downsizing and keeping only the items I wanted forever.
Tip: I stored everything in clear 56 gallon bins with red lids. I placed 2 large computer generated signs inside each bin to indicate which room the decorations belong to.

NOT ENOUGH TIME IN THE DAY!
I know everyone sometimes feels like they aren't making a dent in their "to-do" lists. I don't feel overwhelmed, but am starting to wonder when I will finish storing the last remnants of Christmas. This coming week I will get it done!
